Release Notes

Fixes
  • Minor Fix : Revised error handling in ProcessFolder Function
  • Minor Fix : ProcessFolder now Silently Continues

New Features
  • Added support for matchincludefiles directive in selection file. By default the script includes all file names during the selection progress with the exception of the ones matching matchexcludefiles regular expression. If you want to backup only specific file types (for example only images or only .pst files from outlook) you have two options: either you work on negation regular expressions in matchexcludefiles directive (which, as a drawback, produces a large list of excluded files) or, as it seemed more logic to me, insert the proper regexp into matchincludefiles directive (which does not generate huge exclusion lists).
  • Added detailed catch of 7-zip exit codes
  • Added control on --rotate argument which now does not accept negative numbers

Cosmetics
  • Some adjustements in output formats
  • More detailed output log with performance indicator of Mbytes per second processed by 7-zip

Performance
  • Adjusted default 7-zip switches to a less aggressive compression rate in favour of processing speed. In general compression of heterogeneous files I have not experienced relevant benefits in archive dimensions with Ultra Compression level set. So I decided to switch to Fast Compression level (x=3) which still gives reasonable compression rates but decreases 7-zip time by a factor of 5 (this test has been performed on my files collection : 200k+ files for an overall size of ~300Gb. Of course it may happen you have other results.)
